USABC – Types of Programs – TEST PAGE

Types of Programs

USABC provides funding through two main program types:

  1. Technology Assessment Program (TAP)
Used to test and evaluate a developer’s existing technology (typically in the form of a cell) with little or no further development work. These program provide quick, funded third-party evaluation data to the developer, especially to validate products that may already be close to meeting USABC goals. Typically one set of hardware deliverables are delivered to the National Labs for testing.

    Budget: ≤ $1.0 million
    Duration: ≤ 12 months

  2. Development Program (DP)
Used to advance new technologies to close gaps between current state of the art and USABC goals. Typically these programs require multiple sets of hardware deliverables (most often cells) to be delivered for testing over the duration of the program to demonstrate development progress.

Budget: $2 -$10 million
Duration: 2 – 4 years

Interested applicants should refer to the individual RFPIs which are published and announced in line with funding availability and the research focus areas. Be aware of each RFPIs due date. Applications will not be accepted after the specified due date.
