Mission

To conduct or direct precompetitive research and development on crash-test dummies and related areas such as modeling, instrumentation, data management and reduction and subsystem safety test development.

Goals:

Provide technical leadership in the worldwide harmonization of crash test dummies, advanced restraint systems and other crash safety-related areas.
Provide early coordinated technical input to governmental and non-governmental (e.g., IIHS) crashworthiness research activities in a non-adversarial way.
Develop potential improvements and new methods for crashworthiness design and testing.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Dec. 22, 2011 – The United States Council for Automotive Research LLC (USCAR) Occupant Safety Research Partnership (OSRP) recently posted on the USCAR website a series of experiments, test cases for code development and video files to help researchers and suppliers verify and validate out-of-position occupant protection results in crash simulations.
